CHARLOT ΣΤΟ ΗΡΩΔΕΙΟ ΜΕ Κ.Ο.Α. ΚΑΙ ΜΙΛΤΟ.

Charlot and the Athens State Orchestra at Herodeion

On June 23, 2014 the Odeon of Herodes Atticus will be transformed into a magical open-air cinema and the public will enjoy the screening of the famous “The Gold Rush” accompanied live by the Athens State Orchestra.

For just one night in the context of this year’s Athens Festival, the audience will have the opportunity to get in the dual role of listener and viewer and enjoy Charlie Chaplin’s silent masterpiece at this imposing venue.
The projection of “The Gold Rush” (1925) will be accompanied by music composed for the film by Charlie Chaplin himself, which will be performed live by the Athens State Orchestra, conducted by Miltos Logiadis. The score includes music which ‘describes’ natural phenomena (a storm), social situations (a row) and even a sudden bout of hiccups, as well as a range of emotional and mental states. The melodies also include numerous references to orchestral music by other composers (Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky) as well as popular tunes of the day.
The film’s hero is Chaplin’s celebrated tramp, a character that made his first appearance on the big screen exactly a century ago!

Δεν έχω ξαναδεί κάτι τέτοιο στο Ηρώδειο και είμαι πολύ περίεργη για το αποτέλεσμα.
